Welcome

The FPHRC has created our first National Occupational Standard (NOS) for the position of a
Food Process Operator (FPO)!
The standard is applicable to all employees performing the role of the Food Process Operator across all sub-groups in the sector. This is an extremely useful tool for employers within the food and beverage processing industry; it allows employers to tangibly assess the skills of their workers and helps identify areas that require improvement.

What is a NOS?
National Occupational Standards define the main roles and responsibilities within an area of work, They offer a framework for good employment practice. NOS are compiled, reviewed and validated in close collaboration with industry experts and professionals.
The development of these standards permits manufacturers to adequately train their workers, conduct accurate performance evaluations, develop job descriptions, identify opportunities for advancement and provides companies with a great competitive edge across Canada and on a global scale.
