EVENT SYNOPSIS...Check out what's in store for you at Speaking Food!

Join us at this year’s premier event, for a full day of lively discussions, insightful speakers, a technical workshop, exhibitors, industry networking and more!

Expected conference attendance is 150+ representatives from all food and beverage manufacturing sub-sectors, across Canada. Our events attract the best and the brightest in the food manufacturing community and appeal to every level, including presidents, CEOs, workers, government officials, academia, industry associations, consultants, buyers and more.

Start off your day by attending our brand new workshop, “Recall in a Wired World” where you will be updated on the latest strategies on managing/recovering from a recall, designing messages and using social media. For the second part of the workshop we have partnered with GS1 to have them demonstrate their new product recall communications tool that is supported by all the major retailers in Canada (Loblaws, Sobeys, Walmart, Metro, Atlantic Co-op, etc.) and is based on cloud technology!

At noon you will sit down to a nice luncheon and enjoy our Keynote Speakers from Sara Lee Corporation, who will discuss company innovations and Generations Expert, Sarah Sladek, will discuss what some of the most influential companies in North America are doing to develop a strong bench of future leaders, further employee engagement, and emerge as next generation employers of choice.

To get everyone’s juices flowing we will have a lively discussion called “The Elephant Room” featuring blunt conversations between influential companies, government regulators, academia, and retailers on some of the most pressing issues facing the industry today.

Then to wrap up the afternoon Maple Leaf will discuss the emerging techniques they have used to instill a Culture of Food Safety within all their facilities and Acadian Maple Products, Nova Scotia’s largest producer of maple syrup will inspire you with their success story from humble beginnings to becoming a major exporter.  Ending the day on a high note our final speaker from Clearwater Fine Foods will discuss some of their innovative new seafood products and the future of the fishery.

To end the day, stay for our "Industry Reception", grab a drink and sample some of our members' tasty products, while enjoying some musical entertainment!.
